Taxi from Lanzarote Airport to Costa Teguise

Costa Teguise lies on the east coast, about ten minutes north of Arrecife, and is one of the three main resorts of Lanzarote, alongside Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca. It is quieter than Puerto del Carmen, with low-rise hotels and apartment complexes spread among gardens, and a steady breeze that makes the heat pleasant in summer.

What there is in Costa Teguise

The resort has several beaches, each with its own character. Playa del Jablillo is small and protected by a breakwater, good for young children. Playa de las Cucharas, the longest, is where the windsurf and kitesurf schools are, as the trade wind blows here almost every day. Playa Bastián and Los Charcos are calmer coves between the rocks. In the old part of the resort, the Pueblo Marinero is a square of white houses with restaurants and bars, built in the traditional style of the island. There is also an 18-hole golf course and a water park on the edge of town.

The ride from the airport

The taxi follows the ring road around Arrecife and reaches Costa Teguise in about 20 minutes. Hotels are spread between the seafront and the hillside behind it, and your driver takes you right to the entrance of yours.

Around Costa Teguise

The resort is a good base for the north of the island. The old capital, Teguise, with its large market on Sunday mornings, is 15 minutes inland. The Cactus Garden at Guatiza, the caves of Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de los Verdes are a short drive along the coast.

A pick-up about 2 hours and 20 minutes before your flight leaves is usually enough from Costa Teguise.
